I feel if Therefore I Am, Lost Cause, My Future weren’t released they’d be amazing highlights of the album. Oxytocin is also an immediate favorite, Billie on a club beat? It’s instantly what we needed. The second part of it really solidifies what they were trying to accomplish with this album, melancholy with contemplation and I can’t help but enjoy it. Halley’s Comet’s light jazzy feel paired with Billie’s soft buttery vocals is a highlight of the album, the lyrics are very very sweet. Billie’s vocals are really cute here as well. I enjoy the beat switches and switch ups, they are very refreshing. The less emphasis on experimentation like with her first album was definitely a surprise. Billie does sound like some old timey vintage singer you’d expect to be. I really love the portrayal of longing paired with the visuals and production.
